Job Summary

A healthcare services organization in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is a great fit for a dependable, patient-focused Medical Assistant who enjoys supporting both clinical and administrative operations in a busy healthcare setting.

The Certified Medical Assistant will work closely with providers, patients, and clinic team members to help maintain efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive care experience. Candidates who are organized, compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing hands-on patient care with front-office support will be well positioned for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Room patients, obtain vital signs, document medical histories, and gather chief complaints.
- Assist providers with exams, treatments, minor procedures, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and phlebotomy as assigned.
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, stock supplies, and maintain infection control standards.
- Update electronic medical records, verify patient information, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, answer calls, and support patient follow-up communications.
- Process referrals, prior authorizations, prescription requests, check-in, check-out, and payment processing as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $15.00 to $16.00 per hour.
- Job Type: Temp-to-Hire.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Location: Shreveport, LA.
