Posting Summary - Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Clinical Services Representative I within Rutgers University Dental Associates (RUDA) at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM). Under general supervision, the Clinical Services Representative I carries out a variety of front desk services related to cash collection. The Clinical Services Representative I also serves as a receptionist, maintains appointment books, requests chart, posts payments, enters and updates patient demographic and insurance information, and collects copayments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Registers patients presenting for treatment at the Rutgers University Dental Associates. Enters all biographic and insurance information into appropriate computer system.
• Checks patient identification as required by RSDM/RUDA policies.
• Audits patient data, such as address, is current.
• Obtains a copy of the patients' Medicaid/MedicaidHMO card each month, verifies and updates information as needed.
• Ensures that the designated insurance copayment is collected before patient is seen by student.
• Responsible for the collection and posting of patients' payments. Ensures that the patients' payments are recorded properly. Prepares computer receipts for patients.
• Responds with good customer service to patient inquiries or transfers, as appropriate, to a financial coordinator.
• Prepares and balances receipts daily for the bank deposit. Endorses all checks with RSDM stamp and ensures that deposit is placed in a secure lock bag.
• Prove cash collections daily according to the procedures established by the Head Cashier.
• Informs providers of their patients' arrival. Takes messages for providers and advises them of patient appointments.
• Requests charts for patients of record who will be seen the next day. Compares the charts received to the list of scheduled patients to ensure that all charts requested have been received.

Minimum Salary - 28.470

Mid Range Salary - 28.970

Maximum Salary - 29.840

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience - Three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical experience required, of which one year must have been in a business setting involving cash collections.

Certifications/Licenses

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Must be computer literate, including proficiency in Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications - Preference will be given to those with at least three (3) years of prior dental front desk experience. Associate's degree preferred but not required.

Equipment Utilized

Physical Demands and Work Environment - PHYSICALDEMANDS: Standing, walking, bending and talking. Must be able to lift and more supply boxes, 10 pounds. WORKENVIRONMENT: Clinic and office operation. Moderate noise.
