Individuals with experience in an engineering and/or construction related role as well as basic procurement experience is desired, but not required. We're looking for a team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives. Someone that is detail-oriented, highly motivated with ability to effectively manage time will do well in this position.District Overview: Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in providing comprehensive procurement services to clients across the construction and engineering industries in multiple markets, including transportation; water/wastewater; power; oil, gas and chemical; building; and mining. Our key objectives are to offer clients a world-class service focused on ensuring equipment, materials and services are consistently estimated and procured at the right price. We strive to offer an appropriate level of quality and ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule and in compliance with the client's specifications and expectations.Location: This position will be based in one of our area offices or at one of our project sites across the U.S. Possible initial assignment locations include Lenexa, KS; Lone Tree, CO; Houston, TX; Westlake, TX; Woodcliff Lake, NJ; Peachtree, GA; Aiken, SC; Oak Ridge, TN or Federal Way, WA. Candidates must be open to relocating as needed.Responsibilities:Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representativesPurchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawingsMaintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance and inventoriesResearch and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier's reputation and historyEvaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changesPrepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and servicesQualifications:Ability to travel and relocate as neededBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or related degree preferred0-3 years' experience in an engineering and/or construction related role preferredProficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel)General knowledge of database utilizationSAP Experience a plusBasic knowledge of all areas of procurement, including procurement execution, estimating, expediting, offsite supplier quality and site purchasing preferredHighly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiativeStrong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first timeDemonstrated commitment to ethics and integrityPassion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurtStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsTeam player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectivesStrong organization, time management, and attention to detailOther Requirements:Regular, reliable attendanceWork productively and meet deadlines timelyCommunicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environmentPerform work safely and effectively.
