Data Processing Clerk

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Processing Clerk to support daily administrative and inventory operations at an established metals distribution and processing organization in Petersburg, Virginia.

The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, excellent organizational abilities, and experience maintaining accurate records. This position involves coordinating shipping and receiving documentation, processing inventory information, and communicating with internal teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Enter, review, and maintain accurate inventory and transaction records.
  Process shipping and receiving information, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  Verify bills of lading (BOL) and related shipping documents against electronic records.
  Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory and shipping documentation.
  Communicate effectively with vendors, coworkers, and management regarding operational information.
  Provide administrative assistance, including document preparation, filing, and general clerical support.
  Maintain organized records and follow established data processing procedures.
  Ensure compliance with internal communication protocols and administrative guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
  Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in data entry, administrative support, or inventory recordkeeping.
  Familiarity with shipping and receiving documentation, including bills of lading.
  Experience working in a distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
  Knowledge of computerized inventory management systems.
