Licensed Psychiatric Technician
Location: Soledad, CA
Pay: $2,350/week
Contract Length: 26 weeks, with extensions available
Schedule: Full-time contract

Care Career is seeking an experienced Licensed Psychiatric Technician for a 26-week contract opportunity in a correctional healthcare setting in Soledad, CA. Extensions may be available based on facility need and provider performance.

This role provides mental health and basic nursing support to adult patients in a secure facility setting. The LPT will work as part of the onsite healthcare team to support patient care, medication administration, documentation, and monitoring of patients with behavioral health needs.

Responsibilities:

* Provide direct patient care and behavioral health support in a correctional healthcare setting
* Administer medications and treatments within scope of practice
* Monitor patients for changes in behavior, mood, safety, or medical/mental health status
* Assist with crisis response, suicide risk monitoring, and patient observation as directed
* Complete accurate and timely documentation
* Communicate patient concerns to nursing, mental health, and medical staff
* Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and professional boundaries
* Work collaboratively with custody and healthcare teams

Requirements:

* Active California Licensed Psychiatric Technician license
* Minimum 12 months of recent LPT experience preferred
* Current BLS certification preferred or required by facility
* Ability to work in a correctional/secure healthcare environment
* Must be able to complete required onboarding, background clearance, and facility compliance requirements
* Strong communication, documentation, and patient care skills

* Behavioral health or psychiatric care
* Crisis intervention
* Substance use or co-occurring disorders
* High-acuity or secure treatment settings

Compensation:
This position pays $2,350 per week.
