Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client's healthcare facility in   Clifton NJ 07012. 

Job Details: 
Schedule: 11:00PM-7:00AM EST (Night Shift)
Location:  Clifton NJ 07012
Job Type: Local contract
Contract Length: 14 Week/s
Pay Range: $30.00 to $40.00/hour*

*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.  
Duties & Responsibilities

• Handle and process laboratory specimens.
• Perform clinical laboratory testing according to SOPs.
• Analyze specimens and review/release patient results.
• Perform and document QC/QA activities .
• Perform instrument calibration and maintenance.
• Identify testing issues and troubleshoot or escalate them to the supervisor.
• Document corrective actions.
• Report STAT and critical results according to laboratory procedures.
• Maintain accurate testing and patient records.
• Monitor reagent/test-kit receipt dates, expiration dates, and opening dates.
• Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelines .
• Participate in training, educational meetings, and safety programs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional communication.

Education

• BS in Medical Technology preferred, OR
• BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology , OR
• Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
• Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 may also qualify.
• Foreign-educated candidates require a detailed IERF credential evaluation .
• U.S.-educated candidates require a detailed original transcript.

Certification

• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Candidate should be certified or eligible for national certification.
• State/national licensure required where applicable.

Experience

• 1+ year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• For BS/BA Chemistry or Biology candidates, minimum 1 year of high-complexity clinical laboratory experience is required.
