Rehabilitation Charge Nurse (RN) – Valley Park, Missouri Specialty: Rehabilitation Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing Employment Type: Staff Job Overview The Comprehensive Medical Rehabilitation Unit (C.M.R.U.) is an 18-bed Joint Commission Accredited inpatient unit on the second floor of Christian Hospital. Patients are adults to geriatric requiring intensive rehabilitation therapy, including speech, occupational, and physical therapy. Diagnoses include cerebrovascular accidents, orthopedic problems, neurological disorders, polyarthritis, amputation, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma, and traumatic brain injury. Role Purpose Under the direction of the manager, plan, direct, and coordinate activities of the unit on a designated shift. Provide direct patient care as needed and function as the clinical resource for nursing and support staff. Assess, plan, evaluate, and document the nursing process for the assigned unit as needed. Responsibilities Participate in professional development. Promote patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and families on managing illness or injury, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration. Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, following established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Provide unit leadership for a defined period using critical thinking, assessment, and evaluation skills. Evaluate patients’ response and modify the plan of care accordingly throughout the stay. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s in Nursing. Experience: 2‑5 years of nursing experience. Supervisor Experience: None required. Licenses & Certifications: RN.
