The School Psychologist plays a critical role in supporting students' academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health needs across a traditional K-12 school schedule. Operating within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, this position is responsible for delivering comprehensive psychological services. Primary functions include conducting psychoeducational evaluations, guiding special education eligibility determinations, designing behavioral interventions, and ensuring strict compliance with district policies, state regulations, and federal special education requirements.
Responsibilities:- Complete comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Interpret assessment results to prepare detailed written evaluation reports, summaries, legal documents, and accurate Medicaid billing records.
- Participate actively in eligibility, IEP, and multidisciplinary team meetings to assist in the development and implementation of individualized student services.
- Assist with the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and provide direct and indirect academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
- Consult with teachers, families, administrators, healthcare providers, and community agencies to coordinate comprehensive student services and support crisis response efforts.
- Provide professional direction and supervision to assigned school psychology paraprofessionals, interns, practicum students, and other district personnel.
- Graduation from a NASP- or APA-approved School Psychology program.
- Current, active School Psychologist license or certification in the state of practice.
- Strong expertise in comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation, behavioral assessment, report writing, and case management.
- Solid understanding of IDEA, Section 504, and special education compliance processes, with familiarity in Medicaid documentation and billing preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the organizational capacity to manage multiple evaluation timelines simultaneously.
- Previous school-based psychology experience supporting students with diverse educational, emotional, and behavioral needs is highly preferred.
$52 - $57 per hour
