About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Neuro ICU RN in Charleston, South Carolina, 29406!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN licensure required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale Must-Have: 36 months RN experience, with at least one year in an ICU. One previous successful travel nursing assignment preferably in a facility that uses Meditech. Ability to care for 1-3 ICU patients and comfort in managing patients on a ventilator. Proficient in reading telemetry strips. Advanced skills needed: CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, phlebotomy. Description: Traveler shall be scheduled in accordance with facility policy. Expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation. Unit has 28 mixed ICU beds with patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3/4. Unit staffing consists of registered nurses. Each care team member is provided with a mobile phone, and mobile computer workstation on wheels. Documentation system utilized is Meditech. Three 12-hour shifts per week are standard, including every other weekend. Travelers are the first to float to other areas if needed. May be sent to the emergency department or PCU to care for ICU or PCU holds. Bedside shift report is the method of patient handoff. Advanced procedures performed include post-op CABG, impellas, balloon pumps, Swan Ganz, and advanced hemodynamics. Experience with neuro procedures for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, and induced hypothermia is desired. BSN preferred and advanced certifications are a plus. Willing to train travelers interested in becoming skilled in neuro ICU or cardiovascular ICU nursing. Opportunity to train in handling patients with head and neck flap procedures is available.
