We are hiring a Loader Operator for our Texas Aggregates team. If you have mechanical aptitude, related industry experience, and a willingness to learn and grow, we want to hear from you!
You will safely operate front-end loaders at our aggregate operations, ensuring accurate loading of customer and raw materials while monitoring product quality. This role includes performing routine equipment maintenance, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and adhering strictly to MSHA and company safety policies. Your attention to detail and safety focus will help support efficient and hazard-free operations.
What you will be doing
- Monitor finished product piles for oversized material and contamination
- Load customer trucks accurately with correct materials and quantities
- Operate equipment to load raw material from the pit into the hopper at targeted production rates
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, daily inspections, fueling, and greasing equipment
- Assist with additional maintenance duties as needed
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment, including yard upkeep and housekeeping
- Follow all MSHA and company safety policies rigorously
- Identify and report safety hazards, championing a safety-first culture; actively participate in safety meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
What we would like from you
- Basic mechanical aptitude and strong math skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively in small teams
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and weekends as needed
- Related industry experience is a plus
- Experience operating heavy equipment in a plant environment is preferred
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred
Location and other key details:
- This is a full-time permanent field-based position at our Bridgeport site
- This is a safety sensitive position, offers of employment are conditional on successful completion of fitness for duty assessments, including drug and alcohol screening and a criminal background check
- Position involves working 12-hour shifts with weekend hours as necessary
- Travel to various job sites as needed
- Regular outdoor work with exposure to a range of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Frequent sitting and use of fine motor skills such as manual dexterity, hand / eye coordination, and active hearing and vision
- Occasional standing, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and pushing or pulling as needed
- Regular exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materials
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, vests, and glasses, ear plugs, and hard hats, with additional PPE for tasks like welding or repairs
