Veterinary Assistant

Job Description In addition to the responsibilities outlined below, the General Practice Technician Assistant is responsible for maintaining and engendering the Client-Doctor relationship. The expectation is that the GP Tech Assistant is fast, efficient, professional and knowledgeable in all interactions with clients. The Tech Assistant is also responsible for maintaining an appropriate pace of treatment and data collection to keep the Doctor on time and accountable to their scheduled appointments. This is a high customer service interface position and incumbents must have a love of client education and service.

Duties:
- Must be able to work 7-12 hour shifts and be on their feet for a majority of that time.
- Must be able to lift 50 Lbs unassisted
- Stooping, bending , lifting, getting down on the floor and raising arms above head are constant required movements
- Must be able and willing to use a computer very frequently throughout shift
- Attention to detail and spelling is critical
- Must possess a good sense of time management and critical thinking
- Ability to learn and demonstrate effective and appropriate skills in regards to handling animal restraint
- Ability to steady hands and administer injections, blood draws and nail trims
- Follow all cleaning and sanitization protocols for the hospital
- Ability to use hospital equipment safely and to standard, including but not limited to scales, thermometers, lab equipment and X Ray machines
- Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and is able to work with a team, as well as work by themselves
- Contributes to positive change conversations and has a relentless drive to improve hospital operational performance and culture.
- Along with a positive attitude and a high degree of energy, you will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in a veterinary hospital environment.
- Demonstrates professionalism in separating personal relationships with staff and making decisions and having interactions that are in the best interest of the hospital.

Pay: $18-20.00 per hour depending on experience
