About the Role

The Company is in search of a Director of Commercial Lines to lead the development, marketing, and profitable growth of commercial lines underwriting in the specified territories. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining underwriting standards, managing a team of underwriters and sales representatives, and ensuring a strong local presence with positive agency relationships. This role also involves working closely with underwriting and actuarial teams on product line and pricing reviews, as well as identifying and implementing solutions to improve business workflows. Applicants for the Director of Commercial Lines position at the company should have a bachelor’s degree in insurance or a related field, with 3-7 years' of commercial lines management and/or marketing experience. The role requires a demonstrated ability to coach and lead a team, effective communication skills, and a strong analytical mindset. The ideal candidate will be a team leader with a focus on profitable business opportunities and maintaining positive agency relationships. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with standards, conducting quality reviews, and staying updated on industry regulations through a program of continuing education.
