Agape is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our team. This position is part-time with the potential to go full-time in our Parkville office. Responsibilities:

Review and verify the accuracy of billing data and correct any errors

Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies

Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframes

Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and providers

Maintain confidentiality of all patient information

Experience:

Proven experience in medical billing, medical records, and coding

Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10, and medical collection

Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures

Review patient accounts and insurance information for accuracy.

Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies.

Post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts.

Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims.

Communicate with patients, providers, and insurance companies about billing questions.

Maintain accurate billing records and protect patient confidentiality.

Maintain neat and organized files and documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

3 to 5 years of experience

Previous experience in a Mental Health office or similar setting

Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail

Proficient in using office equipment such as printers, copiers, and fax machines, label machines

Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office is required
