Account Technology Leader - Washington, DC

Introduction Being an Account Technical Leader at IBM means a career where you are a trusted advisor with deep technical expertise who works with clients – directly or through our seller partners – to help craft best‑of‑breed solutions to their most complex technology challenges. As a strategic and systems thinker and business influencer, the ATL will thoroughly interpret business requirements and translate those into technology architecture decisions. ATLs employ contemporary approaches like Agile Methodology and Design Thinking to conduct rigorous solution design and ensure the solutions we propose integrate seamlessly into the client’s IT environment. The ATL will also optimize the IBM portfolio to drive multi‑brand business solutions during solution design. ATLs drive the client’s innovation agenda by leveraging IBM Research and engaging in PoCs and first‑of‑a‑kind projects. They will have an entrepreneurial mindset to lead IBM Client Engineering teams to co‑create with their client. Collaboration with and leadership of IBM brands is an integral role of the ATL. Key Attributes Of a Successful ATL Proven ability to articulate and deliver compelling, industry‑focused, technical solutions providing value and positive outcomes for the assigned account Successful track record and experience leading technical projects from design through implementation In‑depth technical business development, sales, and/or consulting experience Demonstrated hands‑on technology skills in Cloud, Data, Analytics, and AI technologies Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and negotiation skills Successful track record in effectively leading and leveraging cross‑functional resources in an organization to implement strategic initiatives Demonstrated interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills at all levels of an organization Strong Technical / Consultative Sales within specified industry Driven and self‑motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to excellence Your Role And Responsibilities The Account Technical Leader (ATL) is a Pre‑Sales / Solution Architect Technical Leadership role dedicated to IBM’s most strategic clients. Account Technical Leaders create and maintain proven, trusted technical advisor relationships at all levels within the client’s organization to assist customers in understanding, designing, and deploying innovative solutions that address complex business problems. This ATL role will focus on the Federal Civilian market. A Successful ATL will Showcase IBM Technology: Present IBM's technology offerings and thought leadership to clients, highlighting the value proposition and competitive advantages of IBM's solutions. Lead Technical Engagement: Direct the technical engagement with clients, including defining client use cases, co‑creation, and architecture definition, and engage IBM Client Engineering and CSM teams for workshops, MVPs, and deployment. Foster Relationships: Build and maintain direct relationships with client developers, researchers, and support resources to ensure seamless collaboration and effective solution delivery. Drive Innovation: Engage with IBM Labs and Research to showcase innovation, share technology roadmaps, and gather product feedback to drive continuous improvement. Preferred Education Master's Degree Required Technical and Professional Expertise Agile Methodology, Project Management, Technical Leadership, Business Analysis, Technical Decision Making, Financial Decision Making, Enterprise Architecture, Technical Leadership. Experience developing solution requirements and winning vital architectural decisions for clients Technical Sales experience in one or more Federal sector areas with a strong understanding of their disciplines, cultures, and services Experience designing, architecting, and implementing solutions, as well as leading architectural direction and cross‑brand selling Ability to build and maintain robust and trust‑based business relationships with peers and customers at multiple levels. Preferred Technical And Professional Experience 3+ Years Experience in designing end‑to‑end Enterprise architectural solutions with IBM strategic software and hardware solutions (Hybrid Cloud, Containers, and Red Hat OpenShift) 3+ years of experience in developing, managing, and maintaining significant and high‑level customer relationships Project Management experience and/or certification Required location – Washington, D.C. metro area. #J-18808-Ljbffr IBM
