Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years preferred; 1.5 years may be considered with Level I Trauma experience License: New Mexico license can pend at time of submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (must have TNCC prior to submission) Must-Have: - 2 years of experience preferred; Level I Trauma experience preferred - COVID-19 vaccine is optional; facility to report COVID vaccine numbers - Current experience in Level I Trauma is strongly preferred - Must be willing to float to adult PCUs based on staffing needs - Nursing travelers are expected to be scheduled for weekends as needed Description: Travelers can expect their assignments to include admitted patients. Approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department consists of admitted patients. Many of the Emergency Department rooms serve as holding areas for admitted patients. Medication administration must be conducted via the seven rights. Clinical findings must be documented and communicated effectively. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5. Travel experience is strongly preferred. First-timers are accepted with a requirement of 2+ years Level I Trauma experience. Weekend scheduling will include both Saturday and Sunday shifts. Weekend nights consist of shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. Transporting and documenting patients is an expectation. All travelers must adhere to provided medical protocols and procedures. Candidates must have trauma and resuscitation experience. Floating to pediatric emergency departments is optional based on staffing needs. Floating to adult PCUs is expected based on facility needs. Trained nursing staff is required to manage specific areas such as Trauma and Triage. Bar Code Medication scanning is an expectation for all employees. Travelers must comply with facility requirements and expectations.
