The successful candidate will efficiently and accurately direct the shipping team in the construction of custom prefabricated buildings, structures and custom components in a factory environment with attention to the shipment of Dogwood's product. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the shipping team including production, crew direction, quality assurance, work planning and safety.Duties & ResponsibilitiesCompletes projects on time and under budgetIncurs less than 2% NCRs to hours workedDirects self to complete goals dailyMentors crew members to achieve personal and team improvementAssigns the right worker to the right taskArranges work flow to meet all QC hold pointsTakes responsibility for quality of workProactively catches and eliminate quality issues before they impact workReviews drawings and breaks job into stepsParticipates in development of work plan and executes work planAdjusts work plan as required when resources or schedule changesTakes responsibility for the safe execution of the workUses JSA'sUnderstands and participates in the Cardinal Rules of SafetyRequirementsAbility to execute and train advanced shipping and loadout tasks including rigging, bolting, and verifying panels for shipment.Ability to direct crew, following load plans and bolt-up requirements, making real-time decisions when needed to ensure safety and shipment integrity.Ability to perform and train quality control checks, verifying foam installation, ridge plates, flashing, and bolting are correct.Ability to direct the operation of all non-specialized metal working equipmentUnderstanding of how to implement visual inspection criteria in pre-QC work checksPhysical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight throughout assigned workday if required. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment.
