Class B Rear Load Garbage Truck Driver

Overview Interstate Waste Services is Now Hiring CDL B Rear Load Garbage Truck Drivers! Location: Gloucester, NJ Safety is our first Priority! $27.90/Hour Highlights: Monday thru Friday with occasional Saturday hours Early start time - 5:15am - 4:00pm Hourly pay - $27.90 Year round - steady work Full benefits packet with Paid Time Off 1 year verifiable CDL driving experience within the last 7 years required Job Responsibilities Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for picking up bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material. Transport material to a disposal, transfer or recycling facility and may make one or more trips throughout the shift. Deploy both manual and automatic trucks as needed. Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds, move and maneuver up to 100 pounds, and mount and dismount the truck multiple times on each route. Requirements & Qualifications 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States. Valid Class A or B CDL with airbrake endorsement. 1-year CDL driving experience within the last 7 years. Great safety record and clean MVR. Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred. Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA and applicable traffic regulations. Ability to speak and read English to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions and make legible entries on reports and records. Read and understand a map. Meet the physical and safety requirements of the position. Willing and able to work required hours, including weekend, night, and/or holiday work as allowed under DOT regulation. Additional Job Requirements Routes may require navigating through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations. Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job. Drivers routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts. Pre- and post-inspections are required; drivers are responsible for ensuring their truck complies with IWS safety standards, OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws before and while operating the vehicle.
