Salary: $71,998 per year - $78,688 per year

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 3:30pm

St. Francis House is the State’s largest provider of day services supporting people who are at risk of or are experiencing homelessness. Located in the heart of downtown Boston, we compassionately welcome nearly 500 adults through our doors every day who are seeking a safe and dignified refuge and opportunities to rebuild their lives. Our holistic approach allows us to deepen our impact by offering integrated programing that helps our guests achieve stability in the areas of housing, income, and behavioral health. Job Summary:

The SOC Clinicianprovides low-barrier, “on-demand” and ongoing individual and group substance use disorder treatment for SFH guests. The Clinician will be a key part of operationalizing the agency’s plan to embed an intensive outpatient treatment plan into SFH’s menu of treatment services. This Clinician will work collaboratively with an integrated team of providers at SFH to stabilize our guests in the areas of housing, income, and behavioral health.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensures a highly responsive model of care that welcomes people into treatment “on demand” with limited barriers to access.

  • Actively conducts in-reach and engagement in our milieu spaces throughout the building to facilitate guest access to treatment.

  • Uses evidence-based techniques to provide daily group treatment in an intensive outpatient setting.

  • Actively engages and supports SFH guests through weekly individual therapy.

  • Works within a holistic care model, collaborating closely with guests’ care teams both within the agency and externally.

  • Conducts and documents intakes, assessments, treatment plans, and maintains timely clinical notes.

  • Works with Clinical Services Administrator to ensure all billing related documentation is completed appropriately.

  • Incorporates low threshold case management support within counseling services, including both external and internal referrals for supports around housing stabilization and income maximization.

  • Supports teams across Clinical Services on an as-needed basis, offering flexibility to Access Clinician and Women’s Center spaces.

  • Works closely with the behavioral health and medical team at our partner Boston Healthcare for the Homeless, including coordination with psychiatry and the OBAT team as needed.

  • Infuses a person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approach in accordance with our Philosophy of Care.

  • Adheres to agency code of conduct.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in English.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment with compassion and professionalism.

  • Basic understanding of and commitment to taking a person-centered, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approach.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Basic knowledge of community resources and best practices with at-risk populations.

  • Knowledge of de-escalation techniques or crisis intervention preferred.

  • Ability to apply experience and insights from traditional treatment models to a less traditional setting.

  • Knowledge of Boston-based treatment providers and community resources.

Experience & Education

  • Masters-level clinician, LICSW track preferred. LMHC will be also be considered.

  • Experience providing SUD treatment utilizing evidenced based treatment models, including group curriculum.

  • Experience providing treatment to people who have lived in extreme poverty and have co-occurring disorders.

  • Experience with highly vulnerable, high-barrier individuals and awareness of issues common to those who are experiencing homelessness.

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

  • Lived experience with homelessness and or recovery a plus.

Work Environment & Activity

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.

  • Prolonged standing and moving throughout multi-level building.

  • Constantly operate computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, computer printer, 2-way radio.

  • Workweek: Monday – Friday.
