Construction Laborer

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is looking for someone to join as a member of SEL General Construction team. We design build operate and maintain 2.7m sq. ft in over 20 countries around the a Construction Laborer you will work along side Superintendents Construction Managers and external contractors to coordinate and meet project objectives in buildings that support over 8000 employee owners achieve our mission of making electric power safer more reliable and more economical.

A typical day as a Construction Laborer might include:

• Executing facilities services and repairs of moderate complexity including handling tasks like operating power tools site preparation and transporting materials
• Assisting employees in routine duties techniques and department goals
• Performing basic repairs or equipment installations painting and small carpentry repairs
• Following and promoting continuous improvement of workplace safety environmental practices area processes and waste reduction opportunities

This job might be for you if:

• Have the ability to independently operate construction related equipment and use applicable supplies hand and power tools
• Have the ability to perform basic repairs including carpentry painting and equipment installation
• Have demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently complete projects and tasks
• Are able to read understand follow and strictly enforce safety procedures
• Can work various shifts hours and days depending on workload.
• You possess a valid drivers license
• Are willing to travel up to 5 days at a time
• Can lift and maneuver 40 pounds frequently pull weight from high/low shelves safely ascend and descend ladders reach bend grip twist and stand for at least 8 hours

It is a plus if you have:

• 4 years of experience in commercial facility maintenance and operations.
• Experience with maintenance repair and installation of HVAC electrical and/or plumbing.

Pay Range Data:

Construction Laborer: $26.00 - $40.00 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by job responsibility and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience training knowledge and skills.
