Job Title: RN - Postpartum Profession: RN Specialty: Post Partum/Mom Baby Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital postpartum/mother-baby experience License: RN License Certifications: BLS & NRP Must-Have: - Minimum 1 year current acute care hospital postpartum/mother-baby experience - BLS & NRP certifications Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Postpartum care. The role involves working in a unit with 23 beds and approximately 80 staff members. On day shift, staffing typically includes 1 charge nurse, 2-3 CNAs, and 9-10 RNs on the floor. During night shifts, staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 9-10 RNs on the floor, and 2-3 RNs in the nursery. Patient ratios range from 3:1 to 4:1, though these are estimates. The main computer system used for documentation is CPN EMR - Meditech/CPN. Key responsibilities include monitoring vital signs and administering medications. This role requires managing perineal care and educating parents on newborn care, safety, and bonding. The ideal candidate should be compassionate, patient, and a team player. Effective communication with staff and providers is essential in this role. Flexibility with scheduling and the ability to adapt quickly to new situations are preferred attributes.
