Job Summary Provide healthcare services with the focus on the social, emotional, and physical well-being of each student. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Master's Degree preferred. New Hampshire License for the position; experience working with adolescents preferred. Must pass a background check. Supervisor Principal Performance Responsibilities Planning and Preparation Collaborate with special education and 504 teams for individual education and health plans for students. Be a member of the emergency/crisis team and assist with developing emergency plans. Prepared to respond to medical emergencies within the school premises providing CPR, first aid, and coordinating with emergency services. Participate in screenings and registrations of new students. Maintain accurate and confidential health records of students documenting health assessments, treatments, and medications administered. Adhere to state and federal healthcare regulations and student privacy laws. The Environment Organize the health clinic office to be safe and accessible to all students. Develop and implement strategies to promote a healthy school environment. Services Administer basic medical care for students who become ill or injured during school hours by assessing symptoms, providing first aid, and determining if further medical attention is necessary. Conduct health screenings such as vision and hearing and assess students' overall health. Monitor and manage chronic health conditions of students. Educate students, staff, and parents about health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, sexual health, and mental health awareness. Organize health-related workshops or programs for students, staff, and families. Administer medication to students as prescribed by healthcare providers. Professional Responsibilities Prepare a year end injury/accident summary report for the principal to share with the school board. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to students' health needs. Engage in reflective practice. Contribute to school community and culture by leading events, programs, or activities that further the culture of well-being in the school and bring the values of the school to life through modeling and positive action. Regularly seek out and identify high-quality opportunities to grow and learn, identifying problems of practice or areas of inquiry that inform individual and collaborative learning opportunities. Exhibit high standards of ethical practice and wise decision making on behalf of students, families, and colleagues. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
