Position Overview Under the direction of the Residential Coordinator , the Residential Manager is responsible for the overall operation and management of one of NHIA's community residences. This leadership role combines administrative oversight with direct support, ensuring residents receive exceptional, person-centered care while supervising and developing a high-performing team. This is a full-time, exempt position that requires flexibility. Residential Managers are expected to respond to the needs of the home and support their teams beyond a traditional Monday-Friday, 9-to-5 schedule. What You'll Do Lead the daily operations of a community residence Train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate residential staff Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage Provide direct care and support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities Assist with personal care, transportation, meal preparation, medication oversight, and daily living activities Support individuals in achieving their Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals Implement and monitor behavior support plans Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with agency, Medicaid, and DDD requirements Coordinate ISP meetings and collaborate with clinical staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams Promote community integration, employment supports, and meaningful daily activities Maintain a safe, clean, and well-operated residential environment Work collaboratively with Residential Coordinators, Direct Support Professionals, Clinical Services, and Executive Leadership Respond appropriately to emergencies while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents and staff Who We're Looking For We're seeking a compassionate, organized, and confident leader who enjoys mentoring others and creating positive outcomes for the individuals we serve. Successful candidates will demonstrate: Strong leadership and supervisory skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Sound judgment and effective problem-solving Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment A commitment to person-centered care and quality services Professionalism, accountability, and integrity The ability to build positive relationships with staff, families, and community partners Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field preferred Equivalent experience will be considered Experience Minimum of two years' experience supporting individuals with autism or other intellectual/developmental disabilities Minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience Residential program experience preferred Experience using Therap preferred Requirements Valid New Jersey driver's license (or ability to obtain one within three months if licensed in another state) Must meet NHIA driving eligibility requirements Must be at least 20 years of age Reliable transportation Successful completion of all required DDD training within designated timeframes Ability to successfully complete: Criminal Background Check CARI Central Registry Drug Screening (including random testing) Physical Examination Professional Expectations Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality Lead by example and foster a positive team culture Exercise professionalism, patience, and sound judgment in challenging situations Maintain compliance with all NHIA policies, DDD regulations, and Medicaid standards Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and interdisciplinary team meetings Adapt to changing schedules and operational needs Promote a respectful, collaborative, and supportive work environment Why Join NHIA?
