Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Internal Medicine Nocturnist, you will join a well-established hospital-employed group at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. This role focuses on providing outstanding inpatient care for adults during overnight hours, ensuring continuity of care and managing acute changes in patient conditions.

• Diagnosing, treating, and prescribing for a diverse adult inpatient population overnight.
• Promptly evaluating new admissions and managing acute changes in patient conditions.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests to guide treatment during the night shift.
• Collaborating effectively with day‑shift hospitalists, nurses, and other specialists to ensure seamless transitions of care.
• Managing discharge planning for appropriate patients or preparing them for day‑shift discharge processes.
• Responding to urgent patient needs and initiating appropriate interventions during the night time.
• Maintaining accurate and thorough medical records, ensuring comprehensive documentation of care provided overnight.
• Adhering to all hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety protocols, particularly those relevant to nocturnal care.

To be successful in this role, you will be a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Internal Medicine Nocturnist with a passion for delivering compassionate, high-quality care during the overnight hours.

Job Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Ability to obtain an active medical license and DEA registration for Tennessee and Georgia.
• AHA BLS certification.
