Merchandise Assistant

About the Opportunity We're seeking a detail-oriented Merchandise Assistant to support Buyers and Merchandise leadership in a fast-paced retail merchandising environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative, purchasing, and Excel skills who enjoys coordinating with vendors, managing purchase orders, and supporting merchandising operations. Candidates selected for interviews will be required to complete an Excel assessment. What You'll Do Support 2–4 Buyers and an AVP/Merchandise Manager with daily administrative activities. Create, revise, and maintain domestic and import purchase orders. Monitor purchase order status, vendor shipments, and delivery timelines. Communicate regularly with vendors regarding purchase orders, allocations, pricing, and shipment updates. Coordinate travel arrangements and vendor meetings for merchandising leadership. Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets to track spending and merchandising activities. Track merchandise samples, organize sample rooms, and support product review meetings. Prepare reports, maintain filing systems, and support special merchandising projects. Collaborate with Planning & Allocation, Transportation, and other internal teams to ensure timely order processing. Qualifications Previous experience in administrative support, merchandising, purchasing, buying support, retail operations, or a similar office environment. Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Excel assessment required during the interview process). Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience working with purchase orders, vendor communications, or supply chain processes is preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
