SQL Database Administrator

Our direct Client based in NYC (midtown) is seeking a full-time DBA to manage PostgreSQL and MSSQL databases. This is an urgent client need with immediate interviews for qualified candidates. Salary range: $125,000 - $140,000 per year Benefits: 401(k), Health insurance Type: Hybrid (onsite in NYC/midtown) Work Loc: NYC Candidate will have expertise in designing complex stored procedures, developing and optimizing SQL queries and ensuring the efficient installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of PostgreSQL. Knowledge and experience with Amazon AWS services and proficiency with Git/GitHub are highly desired. The successful DBA candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the stability, security, and performance of client's databases. Responsibilities Management and administration of MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their stability, availability, and performance Development and optimization of SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data efficiently, improving system performance and response times Utilize Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development, ensuring proper code management and team coordination Design and maintain complex stored procedures, triggers, and views to meet business requirements, ensuring data consistency and integrity Install, configure, and monitor PostgreSQL databases, addressing any issues or errors that arise Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, authentication mechanisms, and data encryption Assist in data warehouse design and implementation, including ETL processes and reporting requirements Develop and execute backup and recovery strategies, minimizing the risk of data loss and ensuring business continuity Utilize Amazon AWS services, such as EC2 and RDS, for database deployments, monitoring, and scaling to meet business demands Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon AWS, and related technologies Qualifications Solid experience as a DBA with primary focus on MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases Strong proficiency in SQL query optimization and performance tuning Experience in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of PostgreSQL databases Expertise in designing and maintaining complex stored procedures, triggers, and views Understanding and practical experience with Amazon AWS services, such as EC2, RDS, and S3 Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development Knowledge of database security principles and best practices Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders Highly desired are Azure Database Administrator Associate certification or PostgreSQL Certified Professional Client Offers An amazing and collaborative culture along with agile environment PTO: Vacation, Personal, Sick time and Holidays Commuter benefits (pre-tax) and 401k plan offered Medical and Dental insurance coverage Moneyline Group LLC. is an equal opportunity employer.
