This role focuses on performing high?quality TIG (GTAW) welding on box and cylindrical chambers in a manufacturing environment. You independently set up welding parameters, interpret blueprints and weld symbols, and ensure components meet precise drawing and specification requirements. The position requires strong technical welding skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform high?quality TIG (GTAW) welding on box and cylindrical chambers to meet production and quality standards.
• Independently set up welding parameters, including tungsten selection, shielding gas type, flow rates, and appropriate settings for flat, vertical, and overhead positions while maintaining consistent weld quality.
• Read and interpret moderately complex blueprints and weld symbols to understand weld requirements and tolerances.
• Identify drawing discrepancies and effectively communicate feedback to engineering and supervision to support continuous improvement.
• Layout, fit, tack, and weld components according to drawing and specification requirements, ensuring proper alignment and fit?up.
• Safely operate welding support equipment, including floor?mounted rotary positioners, to position workpieces for optimal welding access.
• Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, feeler gauges, and pi tapes to verify decimal tolerances and confirm dimensional accuracy.
• Leverage plasma cutting equipment to achieve proper fit?up and prepare materials for welding.
• Complete moderately complex production and quality documentation with minimal assistance, ensuring accurate records of work performed.
• Comply with all company safety, quality, and HR policies, maintaining a safe and orderly work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the production team and overall manufacturing operations.

Essential Skills

• 47 years of TIG (GTAW) welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in TIG welding on box and cylindrical chambers, including flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Ability to independently set up welding parameters, including tungsten selection, shielding gas, and flow rates.
• Strong understanding of mathematics relevant to welding and fabrication work.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, moderately complex blueprints, and weld symbols.
• Experience with layout, fit?up, tacking, and welding to meet drawing and specification requirements.
• Skill in operating precision measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, feeler gauges, and pi tapes to verify decimal tolerances.
• Ability to safely operate welding support equipment, including floor?mounted rotary positioners.
• Capability to use plasma cutting equipment for material preparation and fit?up.
• Physical ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs unassisted.
• Qualification to operate a 5?Ton Crane.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $64480.00/yr.
