Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be able to function in a fast-paced environment and provide high-quality patient care to individuals across a broad age range. You will work collaboratively with physicians, mid-level providers, and other nursing staff to deliver exceptional care in our Emergency Department.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Evening, Night
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Notes: 3 PM - 3 AM; weekends as needed

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Number of Beds: 24 beds, including 4 behavioral health rooms and 2 critical care rooms
• Average Patients Treated/Day: 70-80
• Nurse:Patient Ratio: 4:1

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in emergency nursing
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS
• Experience or Skills: Ability to work in a high-acuity setting, proficiency in EPIC, and comfort with managing patients requiring urgent care

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide triage and care to patients in a fast-paced emergency room environment
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies including common drips such as levo, epi, fentanyl, and propofol
• Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with physicians and mid-level providers
• Document care and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care improvements
• Assist with patient transport and care as needed
• Handle behavioral health situations with compassion and professionalism

Additional Information

• Security: In-house security present 24/7 within the ER
• Orientation: Two 8-hour hospital orientation shifts and two 12-hour clinical orientation shifts with a preceptor
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs; plain or branded sweatshirts permitted (no hoodies)
