Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

This is not your typical restaurant management role. You'll be part of a team at one of St. Louis' most iconic and historic hotels, located in the heart of the Central West End. As the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, you will partner with leadership to oversee daily restaurant operations and actively support, develop, and motivate the team. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality service, maintaining standards, and ensuring both guest satisfaction and team engagement. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, connecting with guests, and building a strong team culture.

What You'll Do

Operations & Guest Experience

• Support the planning and execution of food and beverage service across outlets and events
• Be present on the floor to ensure smooth operations and step in to resolve guest concerns
• Maintain high standards for cleanliness, presentation, and service execution
• Partner with the Chef to stay informed on menus and guide the team accordingly
• Monitor guest feedback and take action to continuously improve the experience

Team Leadership

• Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of team members
• Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities clearly
• Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
• Provide real-time coaching and feedback to support team development
• Help ensure fair and consistent treatment of all employees

Planning & Administration

• Assist in managing all aspects of the F&B operation
• Support scheduling based on business levels and labor guidelines
• Participate in inventory management and cost control efforts
• Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service regulations

What We're Looking For

• 1 to 3 years of restaurant supervisory or management experience
• Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, team-first approach
• Ability to stay organized and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Solid communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including cost controls
• Comfort with basic technology and Microsoft Office tools
• Ability to motivate a team and maintain a positive culture

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Food safety and alcohol service certifications as required
