Job PostingJob Title: SQL DBA (must have Cosmos DB & Redis)Location: Jackson, MichiganWork Arrangement: Hybrid — On-site Monday, Tuesday, Thursday; Remote optional Wednesday and FridayDescription: Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL environments to ensure high availability, performance, and security. Perform database installations, upgrades, patching, configuration, and ongoing maintenance across on-premises and cloud platforms. Monitor database performance and proactively identify tuning opportunities, indexing strategies, and optimization improvements.Skills:5–7 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.5–7 years of experience with Azure SQL, including performance tuning, monitoring, and cloud-based database management.Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, query execution plans, and performance troubleshooting.Experience with backup/restore strategies, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.Proficiency with T-SQL, scripting, and automation for database operations.Ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues in production environments.Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.Preferred/Nice-to-Have:1–3 years experience with Cosmos DB (1–2 years still considered valuable).1–3 years experience with Redis as a caching platform with optional persistence (1–2 years still considered valuable).Familiarity with cloud-native database patterns, distributed systems, and modern data architectures.Experience supporting enterprise-scale applications and high-volume transactional systems.Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
