EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
Santa Rosa Junior College is currently accepting applications on a continuous basis to establish a pool for associate faculty assignments. Associate assignments may be temporary, part-time and/or on-call and may be immediate or as needed. The Sonoma County Junior College District does not offer 'remote only' assignments. Assignments are made on a part-time, hourly basis. A part-time faculty assignment may not exceed a total of 67% of an annual full-time assignment.

Candidates must meet minimum qualifications in categories A or B AND C, D and E:
A. Graduation from an American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation dental assisting program AND a Bachelor's degree * AND 2 years of full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience as a registered dental assistant; OR
B. The equivalent. If you do not possess the minimum qualifications, exactly as listed above, you must file for equivalency. If claiming equivalency, applicants are responsible for documenting all course work, degree programs and related professional experience at the time of application; AND
C. Current licensure in California as a registered dental assistant *; AND
D. Clinical competency and current knowledge in the specific subjects they are teaching and educational theory and methodology consistent with their teaching assignment *; AND

- Compensation for assigned classes is paid over the duration of the assignment.
- Provide excellent instruction and faculty support to students, which may include evening, weekend, online or hybrid and/or off-campus assignments.
- Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.

- Previous experience as an instructor in an accredited dental hygiene program or dental school (for dental hygiene) or dental assisting program (for dental assisting)
- Experience and/or willingness to teach online if classes are offered
- Experience using a distance learning management system (e.g. CANVAS)
- Candidates with subject-related work experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of innovative classroom teaching.
- Experience with educational software relevant to discipline.
- Online teaching experience at the college level
- Current industry experience relevant to the discipline.
