Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for working closely with the Store Manager to ensure efficient and consistent day‑to‑day operations of the store and excellent customer service. General tasks include supervising employees, communicating with and assisting customers, providing performance discipline, hiring, and terminating employees. This position reports to the Store Manager and has 2 or more direct reports.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Provides ongoing customer service by addressing all questions or concerns regarding accounts, products, and services, both in‑person and over the phone.
• Oversees employees’ performing their duties, providing performance feedback, hiring, and administer performance discipline.
• Understands and utilizes systems and processes with multiple computer programs including the Point of Sale and inventory systems.
• Plans and develops work schedules as needed.
• Enters data into computer using various data entry devices and keeps data organized.
• Conduct inventory.
• Direct or participate in stocking inventory items throughout the store.
• May be required to place special orders.
• Occasionally loads vehicles for delivery and drives a vehicle to deliver items.
• Fabricates custom batteries and power supplies from stock components.
• Performs work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Key Performance Measurements:

• A score card that reflects performance in areas such as daily sales, customer satisfaction and issue resolution.
• Management observation regarding attitude, diligence, team contributions, and willingness & ability to learn new skills and information.
• Other key performance measurements as determined by the direct supervisor.

Requirements

• High School or GED Diploma required. Prefer an associate degree from an approved two‑year college or university or equivalent experience.
• Possess a minimum of two years of managerial experience in a customer service environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to organize work and work independently, with limited supervision.
• Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds across locations and departments.
• Ability to clearly articulate ideas (both written and verbal) to both internal and external customers and to listen effectively to customer needs.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong workplace relationships with an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to adapt to a fast‑changing environment.
• Ability to perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet applicable deadlines.
• Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy.
• Capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently with a sense of urgency.
• Travel up to 5% of the time, some overnight travel required.

Hourly Salary - $22/hr.-$24/hr.
