Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in McKinney, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: OR - Operating Room\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Aug 31, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Neuro and Ortho/Spine surgical experience and a TX or compact RN license.Details\n \n 7-suite Operating Room department within a surgical unit\n Day shift staffed with 1 charge RN, 6-7 RNs, 6-7 CSTs, an orderly, and anesthesia techs, while night shift has 1 RN and 1 CST\n Estimated patient ratio of 1:1\n Performs ortho, neuro, robotics, general, trauma, and urology procedures\n Uses Meditech EMR\n Overnight shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, working Thursday, Friday, and Saturday\n Call requirement of approximately one day per week and one weekend per month\n Requirements\n \n Active TX or compact RN license required\n BLS certification required\n Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room experience required\n Must have Neuro and Ortho/Spine surgical experience\n Labor & Delivery-only experience is not applicable\n Trauma center and ortho experience preferred\n No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration\n One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO)\n Additional Information\n \n Provide perioperative nursing care across ortho, neuro, general, trauma, and urology surgical cases\n Team includes RNs, CSTs, and ancillary support staff working collaboratively\n Team player with a positive attitude is ideal for this unit\n Must change into hospital-provided scrubs daily\n Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-745640.
