Nursing: Registered Nurse (Rn) - Progressive Care Unit (Pcu) - Travel

Overview Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 1-week travel assignment in Davenport, Iowa. Responsibilities A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical/general inpatient units, requiring frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care. Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac-related procedures and examinations. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients. Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisors or physicians of patients’ cardiac status and response to interventions. Responds to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies. Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients. Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients. Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards. Qualifications Required Licensing and Certification One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN. Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations. Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification. Physical Abilities Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend. Technical/Motor Skills Ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures or department equipment. Mental Requirements Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must work under close supervision occasionally, and also independently without assistance from other personnel. Sensory Must possess visual acuity and effective communication ability.
