Job Information Job Title: Full-Time Security Officer Department: Security Reports To: Supervisor of Shiift FLSA: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Amerant Bank Arena Job Summary The Security Officer plays an integral role in ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment to all employees and guests. Security Officers contribute to building safety by patrolling and monitoring premises and reporting safety conditions. Responsibilities Accountability of all access to the Arena Inventory of equipment Controlling and monitoring security cameras Monitoring exterior doors to the building and maintaining a secure environment for our visitors Controlling guest/vendors access to the Arena Ensure all areas are maintained in a professional and clean manner during shift Follow safety and security policies, programs and procedures Ability to handle the telephone and speak clearly and professionally Ability to handle crisis situations in the event of emergency and/or fire Work with all departments to ensure the building’s needs are met Must conduct building security checks of all floors during 8‑hour shift Other duties as assigned. Shifts: 7am‑3pm, 3pm‑11pm and 11pm‑7am. Qualifications Previous experience is a must Applicant must possess a valid Florida Class D Security License Passion to work with people and willingness to learn Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented, team player, professional demeanor and assertive Self-motivation and ability to work alone if necessary Must have a flexible schedule and be available on weekend/overnights Well-groomed/clean shaven Reliable transportation Punctual and dependable individual with a positive attitude Must pass background check and drug screening Education / Training High School Diploma or Equivalent Valid FL Security D License Skills Required Effective Oral and Written communication Reading Time Management Patron Relations Self Defense Professionalism Physical Demands Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time. Repetitive motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is an hourly non‑exempt position. Must be able to work flexible hours, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
