Join a team that’s naturally committed to the environment. Job Description We are looking to expand our Northern California on-call archaeological team. Work will take place primarily in Northern California, but could include work throughout California, with potential opportunities in the Alaska, Oregon, Washington, and Nevada. This is a fieldwork position and work need is heavily influenced by the seasonal weather. On occasion, there may be opportunity for office and/or lab-based work. Your Key Responsibilities Participate in identifying and recording areas of archeological potential, archaeological sites, and traditional use sites. Work closely with a Field Director/Supervisor to make technical recommendations for cultural resources management. Collect field data Participate in field reconnaissance surveys (linear and block type) Assist in archaeological impact assessments Excavations Construction Monitoring Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials Interest in Cultural Resource Management Dedicated to following and promoting a strong safety culture. Education and Experience A Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology is required and minimum 1-year related experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience preferred. Participation in an archaeological field school is seen as an asset. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
