Job Description

The Safety Manager (Safety Specialist) plays a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining site-specific safety programs that align with OSHA, FDA, and pharmaceutical industry standards. This position focuses on risk assessment related to chemical handling, cleanroom construction, and specialized equipment installation, while ensuring strict compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements. The role includes conducting regular site inspections and audits, leading incident investigations, coordinating comprehensive safety training programs, and maintaining detailed safety documentation to support a safe and compliant construction environment within a data center setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement site-specific safety programs aligned with OSHA, FDA, and pharmaceutical industry standards.
• Create and maintain safety plans that address chemical handling, cleanroom construction, and specialized equipment installation.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards in construction activities and operational processes.
• Monitor compliance by ensuring contractors and subcontractors follow safety protocols, PPE requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Regularly perform site inspections and audit construction areas for unsafe practices, equipment misuse, and environmental risks.
• Lead root-cause analysis of accidents, near-misses, and safety violations, and recommend effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate and deliver safety training sessions on hazardous materials, confined spaces, emergency response, and other relevant topics.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of safety audits, permits, incident reports, and compliance certifications.
• Ensure proper management and organization of safety documentation to support regulatory and internal reporting requirements.
• Collaborate closely with project teams, including engineers, project managers, and quality assurance professionals, to integrate safety into all phases of construction.
• Support construction safety initiatives and promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement across the site.
• Assist in implementing and reinforcing construction safety standards and best practices specific to data center environments.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive safety plans and site-specific safety programs.
• Experience in conducting detailed risk assessments and identifying potential hazards in construction and industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and pharmaceutical industry safety standards and regulations.
• Skill in monitoring compliance and conducting regular site inspections and safety audits.
• Ability to investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Experience in coordinating and delivering safety training programs on topics such as hazardous materials, confined spaces, and emergency response.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills for managing safety audits, permits, incident reports, and certifications.
• Understanding of construction safety principles, including safe work practices and PPE requirements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams to integrate safety into construction planning and execution.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety or a closely related field.
• 0–2 years of experience working as a safety specialist in a construction company or similar environment.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• OSHA 10 and OSHA 510 certifications are highly beneficial.
• OSHA 500 training experience is an advantage.
• Background in construction safety within complex facilities such as data centers.
• Experience delivering safety training and safety awareness programs.
• Familiarity with safety requirements for cleanroom construction and specialized equipment installation.

This is a Permanent position based out of Beaver Dam, WI.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Beaver Dam,WI.
