Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for Neuro Stepdown RN!

Job Description:


- Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
- Experience Required:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Neuro Stepdown or similar settings.
- Neuro experience is essential; please indicate if limited.
- First-time travelers will not be accepted.
- Work Setting Skills Required:
- Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and Telemetry
- Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response Skills:
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Telemetry monitoring
- Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Professional Skills Required:
- Must titrate LEVO
- IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
- Blood product administration, central line, and peripheral line management
- Care of ventilated patients and use of BiPAP/CPAP
- Feeding tube management
- Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
- Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management
- Managing aneurysms, craniotomies, CVA, and TBI
- Seizure disorders and substance withdrawal management
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Unit Details:
- Patient Ratios: 1:4
- Average Daily Census: 24 patients
- 24 Rooms/Beds
- Minimum of 3 weekend shifts every six weeks required
- No call requirement


- Orientation:
- 32 hours; includes an 8-hour computer class plus two shifts on the unit.

Key Qualities:
- A teamwork approach with adherence to behavioral expectations in interactions with patients and staff is a must.
- Strong adherence to call-off policies is necessary.
