Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a local company's Finance & Accounting team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with strong attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills.


Position Summary


The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for accounts receivable, billing, credit, cash receipts, collections, and invoice processing , while also providing support with month-end close and general ledger activities.


Key Responsibilities

• Process and review customer invoices, credits, refunds, and adjustments.
• Apply customer payments including credit cards, ACH, wires, checks, and lockbox deposits.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, deductions, shortages, and chargebacks.
• Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past-due accounts.
• Assist with credit reviews, account holds, collections, and write-off recommendations.
• Prepare collection and other accounting reports as needed.
• Support month-end close, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Communicate professionally with customers and internal departments.
• Assist with process improvements and other Finance & Accounting duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college-level accounting coursework or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounts receivable experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software.
• Knowledge of double-entry accounting and accounts receivable practices.
• Familiarity with general ledger reconciliations and month-end close.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based accounting work.
• Requires frequent computer use, sitting, and continuous mental/visual attention.
• Must maintain a professional and courteous approach when communicating with customers and coworkers.
