Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Lead Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline supporting the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) Program.The LTAMDS-GE Department is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer (Senior Principal Systems Engineering) to join the LTAMDS program. The Development Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) is an integral part of the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) and is the principal arbiter of Systems requirements and design. The LSE supports the OCE to ensure technical execution and system compliance with contractual requirements.Every day will bring new challenges, requiring you to collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you'll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly.What you will do:Works across all IPT/CPTs, and across contracts in support of Development.Coordinates across HW, SW, test capabilities to ensure interface integrity and design cohesion. They are key participants in platform/SoS integration.Matures concepts into an optimal solution balancing performance against objectives and constraints; is responsible for system requirements verification (FCA/SVR) and supports the sell-off of the productWorks with the Chief Engineer (CE) to support the capability thread leads for technical execution and integration of the programWorks with the CE and the various capability thread leads to provide, guide and mature the technical capabilities (EP, NCTR, ABT/TBM, 360 etc.) into optimal solutionsThe LTAMDS Development LSE along with the CE of the program is in constant communication with the Program Office and the US Govt. in maturing solutions and getting it to the field quickly (to support customer needs)Provide technical leadership and coordinationCoordinate closely with the Development Program Manager regarding budget and scheduleGuide and direct other engineering team leads to achieve program and technical successCoordinate, write, and deliver technical presentations to both internal and external customersQualifications You Must Have:Typically requires a Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant experience.Minimum of 10 years of experience in related Systems Engineering or Multi-Disciplined EngineeringProven Experience effectively leading multidisciplinary teams of systems engineering professionalsIntegration/test or sustainment background strongly valuedThis role is based in Tewksbury, MA.Qualifications We Prefer:Self-starter – proactive in determining goals and objectives and pursuing the necessary course of actionRadar or sensor systems preferred but not requiredExperience in preparing customer and/or management level briefingsExcellent communication skills with prior experience presenting to customers and senior leadership Experience defining clear, testable requirements or change requests Familiar with configuration control and release processes Experience in schedule development, action item management, requirement change management and overall development and progress metrics Experience working with external customers; including USG, or FMS partners EVMS Certified (or equivalent) Knowledge navigating the organization and working with stakeholders across the company to develop solutions to key program challenges Technical leadership and guidance of multi-disciplined teams in the design and development of system requirements and design.What We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
