POLICE OFFICER

Summary You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (N3) of NAVSTA EVERETT SEC DET. Responsibilities You will follow law enforcement procedures or techniques to enforce laws and protect life, property, and the civil rights of individuals. You will implement standard procedures for responding to requests for services, incidents, accidents, and alarms. You will perform law enforcement duties at fixed post entrance and exit gates to control vehicle and pedestrian traffic. You will apprehend or detain individuals in accordance with regulations or laws. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Apprehending personnel by the use of force or police equipment (e.g., firearms, Taser, Oleoresin Capsicum (OS) spray; 2) Preparing police reports concerning incidents and actions taken; and 3) Responding to emergency calls for service while adhering to state and federal laws. Completion of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program is a condition of continued employment. Employee will be required to sign a continuing service agreement prior to travel to the academy. Agreement to Continue in Service - CSA, Agency requires 36 month of continued employment after the completion of required training from the FLETC in accordance with Title 5 USC 4108 and 5 CFR410.309. Failure to voluntary complete length of employment requirement can subject employee to reimburse to the agency for fees, such as tuition and related fees, travel, and other special expenses (excluding salary) paid in connection with the training. Education The following education may be substituted for specialized experience: Successful completion of a four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree in Police Science or a comparable degree program related to the work of the position. OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equals one hundred percent. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications ( Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ).
