Must-Have:

• 1 year of EPIC experience is required
• Experience with post-surgical cardiovascular patients
• Cardiac drips and insulin drip experience is required

Description:

Shift: 3x12 Nights

Weekend coverage is required every other weekend but may change based on need. Float may be required if necessary.

Medication system utilized is Omnicell.

Patient diagnoses include CAD, S/P CABG, cardiac valve repair, lung cancer, S/P VAT, and esophageal cancer.

Must be able to pass the EKG exam prior to start. Blood product administration and central line care/management required. Interpretation of dysrhythmias is expected. IV insulin protocols are part of the job responsibilities. Management of cardiac drips without titration is necessary. Starting and maintaining IVs skill is essential. Experience with telemetry monitoring on the unit and remote monitoring is necessary. Travelers must float to other units and/or campuses as per request due to census concerns. Staff will only be floating to units for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented. Modules are billable, up to 16 hours, and must be completed prior to start. Modules are recorded in transcripts, but time is not entered into timecards. Qualified applicants must have arrhythmia certification. Prior charge experience is preferred. Daily patient census may average around 31 with a patient ratio of 4 per nurse.
