Position Highlights Location: UNC Rex Holly Springs Hospital (Opportunities to pick up additional hours at our Raleigh campus if desired) Status: Per‑Diem (PRNs must cover at least 2 shifts a month or 12 hours) Schedule: As needed. The department operates 24/7. No call or holiday shifts required. Equipment: Siemens Definition Edge Standard Hours Per Week: 4.00 Salary Range: $33.37 - $47.97 per hour (Hiring Range) Work Type: Per Diem Work Assignment Type: Onsite Work Schedule: Variable Location: US:NC:Holly Springs Exempt From Overtime: No Responsibilities Patient Identification – Verify patient identity, obtain medical history, assist patients/family, ensure understanding and safety, document pregnancy status. CT Scans – Conduct scans per protocol, manipulate image data, perform multiplanar and 3‑D reconstruction, apply appropriate window and level settings, and demonstrate knowledge of CT algorithms. Contrast – Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients; establish intravenous lines; perform IV contrast injections safely; verify contrast eligibility; check required lab values before injection. Image Transfer – Maintain proficiency with PACS, transmit images to QC, EMR, EPIC, and other systems; verify and segment images; manage orders; ensure accurate charge information; maintain correct patient identification and demographics. Other Duties – Complete tasks promptly, maintain workflow, volunteer for challenging procedures and new research, produce quality images, review patient charts for correlation, keep work area clean, document incidents for improvement, precept new employees and students. Other Information Education Requirements: Completion of an accredited Radiological Science program or completion within 3 months at time of application. Licensure/Certification Requirements Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or certified with NMTCB (CT) or registry‑eligible. Registry‑eligible candidates must provide a diploma from an accredited program. Successful candidates must become registered within two years of employment and maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually. All imaging specialists must maintain current competency in HCP BLS. Professional Experience Requirements Prior education, training, and experience that provides competence in assigned tasks.
