Sorter/Donation ProcessorThe Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation Army policy and production procedures.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Follow procedure as it pertains to sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping and receiving donated items for saleKeep donation area clean and without debrisSorting donations of clothing, furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household itemsLoading donations for truck deliveryAdhere to all safety policies as it pertains to loading and unloading of trucksFollow all accident and injury reporting proceduresMaintain a clean and organized receiving and processing areaDetermine which items are saleable, repairable or salvageableOther duties as assignedAdhere to proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct SupervisorKnowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:Educational Requirements:High School diploma or General Education degree (GED): or one or two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experienceMust complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate SupervisorPhysical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, bend and stoop. Frequently the employee must walk, climb and/or balance. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance peripheral, vision and depth perception.Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
