Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Coordinator - RN

Position Overview Employment Type: Part‑time Shift: Day shift Saint Alphonsus Health System seeks a Part‑Time Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Care Coordinator for the Surgical Services Team. Position Purpose The Care Coordinator will coordinate bariatric patient care with providers, triage patients (telephonically/in‑person), conduct pre‑visit chart reviews to anticipate care needs, develop and provide patient education, coordinate care across the continuum, and support quality improvement activities for the Metabolic and Bariatric Center. Minimum Qualifications Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Idaho or Oregon within six months of hire. BSN preferred. Preferred registration as an MBS Coordinator. Three years of direct patient‑care experience desirably. Responsibilities Demonstrate the organization’s mission, vision, and core values in all behaviors, practices, and decisions. Support performance improvement, billing, coding, and documentation processes. Apply evidence‑based methodologies to patient care. Utilize excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and computer skills to motivate patients and collaborate with clinical staff. Coordinate with the MBS team—PSRs, MAs, and the bariatric insurance coordinator—to provide high‑quality, compassionate care. Assist in developing written protocols and nurse education on rapid communication and critical vital‑sign response to minimize delays in diagnosing and treating adverse events.
