Department Overview OHSU is the flagship academic health center in Oregon. At OHSU, APPs thrive as clinicians, educators, researchers, and leaders shaping the future of healthcare. Opened in April 2026, the Vista Pavilion marks an exciting expansion of our inpatient cancer care services. To support this growth, we’re hiring Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to join our team and work in this beautiful new facility. We are actively recruiting three (3) inpatient APPs to join the Center for Hematologic Malignancies (CHM), a key division within Hematology & Medical Oncology. Function/Duties of Position Position Summary: OHSU classification: Clinical Associate APP , represented by the Oregon Nurses Association & Advance Practice United, subject to the active collective bargaining agreement. The Clinical Associate APP delivers care aligned with a defined scope of practice in Inpatient Adult Medical Oncology , with work expectations operationalized through departmental workflows, productivity standards, and performance expectations consistent with the collective bargaining agreement and institutional policies. This role is structured to meet contract-defined work expectations of 160 annual 12.5-hour shifts, inclusive of daytime coverage, aligned with the clinical coverage model and patient care needs of the service. PTO use reduces annual maximum clinical time. The Clinical Associate APP will participate in departmental scheduling processes, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, with scheduling practices aligned to contract provisions, equitable distribution of coverage, and maintenance of safe, consistent clinical operations. Location: Vista Pavilion (VPV) – Units 4V, 5V, 6V, 7V OHSUMarquamHill – Various units where patients admitted to the Inpatient Medical Oncology service may belocated(ED, ICUs, overflow units) Department‑specific responsibilities: Daily rounds in conjunction with the faculty physicianand multidisciplinary team Writing of daily notes and orders Coordinating care with the multidisciplinary team and consulting services Coordinating the inpatient workflow of admissions and discharges Performing appropriate procedures (e.g., bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, and administration of chemotherapy) All APPs are expected to support the clinical, education, and research mission of OHSU through routine clinical care that includes working with students, trainees, and patients participating in research, consistent with their role, scope of practice, and applicable contract and institutional policies All APPs are expected to maintain professional standards in all aspects of role performance, including consistent participation in unit and departmental meetings, routine monitoring and timely response to organizational communications (e.g., email), and adherence to established deadlines for institutional and departmental requirements. Required Qualifications Education & Experience: Successful completion of a Master’s Degree in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing in a recognized APRN specialty (Nurse Practitioner),

Successful completion of a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant/Associate Studies from an accredited program. Note: Family Nurse Practitioners (FNPs) are required to have documented experience in inpatient adult oncology, hematology, cellular therapy/transplantation to be considered Registrations, Certifications and/or Licenses: Current RN and APRN licensure with the Oregon Board of Nursing Current national certification in the area of specialization Current BLS or ACLS Certification as indicated for the position DEA Certification -OR- Current PA licensure with the Oregon Medical Board Current NCCPA Certification Current BLS or ACLS DEA Certification Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and patient management skills in an inpatient setting Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment Effective communication skills, including clear, concise, and professional interaction with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to collaborate across disciplines and contribute to coordinated, team-based care Sound clinical judgment and decision-making, including the ability to recognize and respond to clinical deterioration Proficiency in documentation and use of electronic health record (EHR) systems Ability to adapt to changing clinical demands, workflows, and patient volumes Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and quality care Ability to provide education to patients, families, and learners (e.g., students, trainees, new APPs) Demonstrated professionalism, accountability, and reliability in meeting responsibilities and deadlines Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information Commitment to continuous learning and adherence to institutional policies, standards, and evidence-based practice Preferred Qualifications Two years of oncology, hematology, cellular therapy/transplantation, and/or hospital medicine strongly preferred Advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning in complex hematologic/oncologic malignancies and cellular therapy patients Ability to recognize and manage oncologic and cellular therapy-related complications (e.g., febrile neutropenia, sepsis, tumor lysis syndrome, GVHD, CAR‑T toxicities such as CRS/ICANS) Strong clinical judgment and timely escalation of care for acutely ill and immunocompromised patients Ability to prioritize and manage high-acuity, high-volume patient populations in a fast-paced inpatient environment Proficiency in chemotherapy/biotherapy management, including monitoring and toxicity management Proficiency or ability to learn how to perform necessary procedures (e.g. bone marrow biopsies and aspirates, lumbar punctures, administration of chemotherapy) Effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, including complex care discussions and transitions of care Ability to collaborate across specialties (e.g., oncology, infectious disease, critical care, pharmacy, case management) to coordinate comprehensive care Proficiency in EHR documentation, order entry, and utilization of oncology‑specific treatment plans and pathways Ability to educate patients, families, and learners on complex disease processes, treatments, and supportive care needs Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety standards related to high‑risk therapies and immunocompromised populations Demonstrated adaptability in managing evolving therapies, protocols, and clinical workflows in cellular therapy and transplant care Commitment to evidence‑based practice, regulatory standards (e.g., FACT, CoC), and continuous professional development Commitment to carry out job responsibilities in an effective, ethical, and professional manner Additional Details Apply online.
