Medical Equipment and Supply Specialist

Bishop & Company is searching for an Equipment and Supply Specialist with medical experience for an excellent client.  This position is temporary to hire and manages inventory, orders, tracks, and maintains supplies and equipment, ensuring operational needs are met by handling procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal while also performing record-keeping, quality control, compliance checks, and troubleshooting for various assets, from office supplies to complex machinery.

Responsibilities:

• Manage inventory, ordering, tracking, and maintenance of supplies and equipment to ensure all operational needs are met.
• Oversee procurement, storage, distribution, and disposal of supplies and assets, ranging from office materials to complex clinical machinery.
• Process purchase orders, reconcile invoices, and maintain accurate records for all supply and equipment transactions.
• Conduct routine inspections, quality control checks, and compliance reviews to ensure proper functioning and regulatory adherence.
• Support equipment maintenance activities, including troubleshooting, coordinating repairs, and monitoring lifecycle management.
• Maintain property accountability through detailed documentation, tracking, and reporting.
• Provide technical assistance to staff regarding equipment functionality, usage, and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Supply Chain Management to follow proper purchasing protocols and ensure alignment with organizational standards.
• Manage onsite inventory and Lawson CloudSuite Perpetual Inventory systems to maintain accurate stock levels and data integrity.
• Serve in a dotted line reporting role to the Assistant Administrator, contributing to staff training, resource management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Document all activities thoroughly, ensuring clear communication and consistent ticketing, tracking, and audit readiness.

• Critical thinking skills to troubleshoot supply delays, shortages, and issues.

• Inventory control systems, data entry, and property accountability.
• Understanding of procurement, logistics, and supply chain principles.
• Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting and coordinating.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with maintenance, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements. 
• Ability to maintain highly sensitive, confidential material.
• Ability to understand & follow complex instructions.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of anatomy, pathophysiology, current treatment methods.
• Provides hospitable customer service.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Detailed-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Minimum Education / Training / Licensure / Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
• Current BLS

Minimum Experience

• One (1) year experience in materials management, central supply, or operating room.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with high-tech equipment and instrumentation used in clinical departments (e.g., orthopedics, open heart, general surgery, ophthalmology).
• Experience with perpetual inventory and IT supply management

Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $26-$32/Hr.  This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
