We're Hiring: Refrigeration Maintenance Technician

Location: R.W. Zant
Reports to: Operations Manager
Compensation: Full-Time | Hourly | Bi-weekly | $25 to $32 per hour

We're looking for a skilled Refrigeration Maintenance Technician to join our team and keep things running smoothly — and cold! If you love getting hands-on with tools, fixing things others can't, and working in a fast-paced refrigerated environment, then this might be your perfect gig.

This role is all about keeping our refrigeration systems and cold storage equipment in top shape — from plumbing to electrical, HVAC to carpentry. Your skills help keep the chill flowing and operations running without a hitch.

You'll team up with vendors, customers, and the amazing folks at RW Zant.

What You'll Be Doing

• Roll up your sleeves for hands-on preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on freon-based industrial refrigeration systems.
• Tackle equipment featuring:
• Screw compressors
• Reciprocating compressors
• Semi-hermetic compressors
• Troubleshoot and assist with minor repairs on three-phase and single-phase electrical systems.
• Be our go-to responder for emergency service calls (yes, we know things break at odd hours — flexibility is key!).

What You Bring to the Table

• Education: High school diploma or GED (bonus points for tech courses or related business experience!)
• Experience:
• HVAC/Refrigeration required
• 3-phase electrical experience preferred
• 2-3 years in industrial refrigeration (freon-based systems required)

Skills & Superpowers

• You know your way around EPA and OSHA safety standards
• Calm under pressure and skilled at juggling multiple requests
• Detail-oriented, sharp, and focused
• Comfortable using job-related equipment (computers, radios, forklifts, reach trucks, etc.)
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) requirement
• Flexibility for nights, weekends, holidays

️ Physical Demands/Equipment

• Independently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in addition to climbing stairs and ladders in a refrigerated warehouse environment
• Able to step up onto and down from equipment as required by task (such as ladders, forklift, reach truck, etc.)
• Ability to reach above shoulder level
• Ability to utilize manual and power tools/equipment.
• Able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
• Ability to work in a noisy warehouse environment
• Ability to work at elevated heights while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as fall protection harnesses, steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
• Ability to handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
