Associate Attorney (New York City Metropolitan Area)

Overview
Our client, a respected law firm in the real estate creditor rights space, is seeking a New York Evictions Attorney to join its growing practice. This attorney will manage eviction matters, provide strategic legal guidance to clients, and represent clients throughout the eviction process. The ideal candidate will be licensed in New York and have experience handling landlord-tenant matters in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage a high-volume caseload of eviction matters from initiation through resolution.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, oppositions, and discovery documents.
- Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on eviction-related matters.
- Represent clients at court hearings and other legal proceedings.
- Stay current on New York eviction laws and regulatory changes, including GCEL and Rent Stabilization regulations.
- Educate clients on legal developments, trends, and compliance requirements affecting eviction actions.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active New York State Bar admission in good standing.
- Minimum of 1 year of legal practice experience.
- Prior experience in eviction law preferred; foreclosure, litigation, or title experience is a plus.
- Strong legal research, writing, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Excellent communication, organizational, client service, and problem-solving abilities.

The successful candidate is a motivated and detail-oriented attorney who thrives in a high-volume practice and enjoys client interaction. They possess strong courtroom and litigation skills, work effectively both independently and collaboratively, and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience with New York eviction laws, including Good Cause Eviction and Rent Stabilization regulations, is highly desirable.
