Must-Have: Current TNCC license is mandatory.

Description: Unit handles standard emergency department patients, including primary trauma cases. Candidate must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Experience working with psych holds in collaboration with security is necessary. The unit has 30 beds, including 1 trauma bay with 2 beds. Charge nurses generally do not take patients but may provide break relief. Nurse aides are available depending on census and staffing needs. Staffing requires every other weekend commitment and rotation for holidays. Scrub colors are navy, with undershirts in navy, white, or black. Self-scheduling is used, but requires balancing by management. Shifts typically start with bedside report at the beginning of the shift. Candidates must be prepared for potential floating to other facilities. Floor-specific orientation will be provided for 1-2 days with a preceptor. The care setting involves acute-level trauma responses and various emergency cases. Cancellation policy allows for a limited number of shift cancellations during the assignment. Charting is done using the Cerner system.
