Lead Mechanic
The Bergaila Companies
We are seeking a Lead Mechanic for assignment in Westerly, Rhode Island. The selected candidate will perform a variety of tasks in the preventive and corrective maintenance on water/wastewater treatment plants, and related facilities equipment, on an assigned shift.
Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm This position may have an on-call scheduleResponsibilities
- Maintain plant operations equipment, laboratory, facility and collection systems
- General maintenance of engines, pumps, valves, motors and related equipment
- Wastewater process control
- Permit compliance
- Diagnose operating problems and assist with determining effective correction procedures
- Schedule and work with outside contractors
- Prepare required reports
- Maintain the CMMS
- Assure complete recordkeeping procedures
- Perform plant inspections
- Remedial action in emergencies
- Supervise, evaluate and train employees Qualifications
- A valid Driver's License
- 5+ years experience in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
- Knowledge of electrical systems, including 480v three phase, VFD's and control circuits
- Knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting and repairs, including pumps and valves
- The ability to operate plant PLC's and SCADA systems
- The ability to weld and fabricate is a plus
